About Dr Ronald Hirschberg

Dr. Hirschfeld-Baker is co-director of the Child Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Program at Massachusetts General Hospital and associate professor of psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He did his undergraduate work at Harvard University and earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Boston University. His postdoctoral clinical and research training was completed at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Hirschfeld-Baker conducts cognitive-behavioral therapy for anxiety and mood disorders with children, adolescents, and young adults. She specializes in treating anxiety in young children. He researches risk factors for anxiety disorders and other psychiatric disorders. She has received National Institute of Mental Health funding to conduct longitudinal studies of children at risk for ADHD, major depression, and bipolar disorder, as well as to develop and test early cognitive-behavioral interventions for young (4–7-year-old) children at risk for anxiety disorders. She is currently working on piloting this intervention with young children with anxiety and autism spectrum disorders.
