About Dr Hannah North
Dr Hannah North grew up in Sydney and graduated from The University of Sydney with honors in 2005. She completed her expert training in ENT in New South Wales. in 2014. Wanting to develop her skills further, she accomplished two fully funded fellowships. The first year was in Paediatric Otolaryngology at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth where she developed expert knowledge in managing pediatric airways and performing cochlear implant surgery. Her second fellowship was in Otology, Neurotology, and Lateral Skull Base Surgery with the Manchester Skull Base Unit in the UK, one of the largest centers in the UK for this type of work.
Dr North’s interests focus on hearing restoration surgery including middle ear implants, cochlear implantation, stapedotomy, & complex cholesteatoma management including endoscopic & open techniques. She also performs lateral skull base surgery for the removal of tumors including vestibular schwannoma, meningioma, and paraganglioma as well as surgery for patients with neurofibromatosis type 2.
In 2010 she was awarded her Master of Surgery from the University of Sydney (USYD) after completing a research project studying the development of inner ear hair cells in conjunction with the Ear Institute of University College London (UCL). She secured a Project Award Grant from the Garnett Passe Memorial Foundation for this research. Hannah’s research interests have flourished & she has given lectures at convention the world over & is an editor of the Cochlear Implant International Journal for the British Cochlear Implant Group.
