About Dr Geren Stone
Dr. Geren Stone completed her Internal Medicine/Primary Care residency training at Massachusetts General Hospital. After residency, Dr. Stone received a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (DTM&H) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Stone then served as the Medicine Team Liaison for the AMPATH Program (Academic Model Providing Access to Health Care) with Indiana University in Eldoret, Kenya. In that role, he coordinated the visiting experience of medical students and residents while performing teaching and clinical duties as a visiting lecturer at Moi University. He worked closely with the leadership of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital to examine the quality of care in the medical wards and develop systems for continuous improvement.
Originally from Atlanta, Dr. Stone earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He then worked with doctors in Tajikistan providing medical training in family medicine and caring for TB patients in prisons. After that experience, he returned to earn his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
