About Dr Kenneth Shelton
Dr. Kenneth Shelton is a critical care physician and cardiac anesthesiologist at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Shelton currently serves as Chief of Critical Care and Medical Co-Director of the Heart Center Intensive Care Unit in the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine. Shelton completed medical school at the University of California, San Francisco and completed an anesthesiology residency and fellowship in critical care and cardiac anesthesiology at Mass General. Dr. Shelton is board-certified in anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
Dr. Shelton’s academic interests include cardiac critical care medicine, echocardiography, perioperative outcomes research, bioinformatics, medical education and quality improvement. Shelton served as Director of Perioperative and Critical Care Echocardiography in the Department of Anesthesiology from 2015-2019. Dr. Shelton has published widely on cardiac critical care medicine and is a dedicated clinical educator.
