Effects of oestrogen in female

Effects Of Oestrogen On Female
What is Estrogen?
  • Estrogen is a hormone found in women produced by the ovaries. Adrenal and fat cells also produce small amounts of estrogen hormones.
  • Both men and women produce hormones, but the ratio of hormones produced in men and women can be different.
  • Estrogen regulates mood in women and plays an important role in the development of the female reproductive system.

According to the NCBI, estrogen is a steroid hormone responsible for developing sexual characteristics.

  • urinary tract,
  • reproductive system,
  • heart and blood vessels,
  • muscles,
  • bone,
  • breast,
  • leather,
  • brain,
  • Mucous membrane and
  • pelvic muscles
Different types of estrogens

There are several types of estrogen.

Estrone
  • The hormone oestrone is produced by the ovaries, fat cells, and adrenal glands. Biological activity may be weaker compared to oestradiol.
  • Since the action of estrone is weak, it will be stored and later converted into the hormone estradiol. The hormone is produced mainly in the postmenopausal phase.
  • Excess production of estrone can lead to breast cancer development. Research has shown that obese women also produce more estrogen due to the presence of fat cells.
  • Low production of estrone can lead to osteoporosis, hot flashes, decreased libido, fatigue, and depression.
Estradiol
  • Oestradiol is a steroid hormone and the strongest of the three hormones. oestradiol’s main function is to mature and maintain the female reproductive system.
  • The production of oestradiol helps in the development of breast tissue and increases the density of bone and cartilage.
  • Oestradiol will be produced the most during ovulation, and the levels will decrease during the menstrual cycle. When a woman has menopause, oestradiol levels stop completely.
  • Low production of oestradiol increases the risk of blood clotting and, in men, it can lead to liver disease and obesity.
The Austrian
  • Oestriol is produced by females at lower levels. Kestrel levels rise during pregnancy.
  • The hormone oestriol is produced from the placenta with the help of the fetus. Four weeks before delivery there will be a sudden increase in hormones. If the hormones rise early, it may indicate premature birth.
  • If very low levels of estriol hormone are present in women during pregnancy, it may indicate that the baby may have health problems such as Down’s syndrome.
Action of Estrogen

growth regulation,
Human reproductive system development,
affects neuroendocrine and
Promotes bone health.

Estrogen hormones will also have specific effects on these organs.

The womb
  • The hormone estrogen helps to proliferate endometrial cells in the uterus during the follicular phase of a woman’s menstrual cycle.
  • During pregnancy, the endometrial lining thickens and prepares the uterus for conception with the help of hormones.
The vagina
  • The hormone estrogen supports the proliferation of epithelial mucosa cells of the vagina and the vulva in women.
  • When there is a deficiency of the hormone estrogen, the mucosal epithelium of the vagina and vulvar thins.
