About Dr Ryan Markham

Doctor Ryan Markham is a Cardiologist with interests in Interventional cardiology & the management of ischaemic & valvular heart disease.

He performs coronary and structural interventions including percutaneous coronary intervention, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), transcatheter mitral and tricuspid therapies, & congenital heart defect repair.

Dr Markham graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, & a Bachelor of Surgery from the University of NSW, Sydney. He then went on to complete two fellowships in advanced cardiology and interventional cardiology at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. He also attained a Master of Philosophy at The University of QLD in evaluating mitral annular geometry.

Continuing his education in the United States Dr Markham accomplished a fellowship at Stanford University focusing on structural intervention. During this period he was involved in several trials evaluating high-risk patients with valvular heart disease. He was then awarded a position at Stanford Byers Centre for Biodesign to assist in the improvement of medical devices for use in patients with critical cardiovascular disease, focusing on artificially intelligent software used to predict patient results.

Dr Ryan Markham a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and a lecturer at The University of Queensland. He has been extensively published in the field of coronary & structural cardiac intervention in international peer-reviewed journals. Doctor Markham is a regular guest speaker at international conferences & also has an involvement in community teaching.
