Monkeypox Can Sometimes Lead To Brain Inflammation
Signs of oral cancer can be very subtle, do not let them go unnoticed!
Signs and symptoms of cancer are quite difficult to detect. One of the reasons they can be so deadly is that they go unnoticed most of the time. When such symptoms are not noticed and diagnosed at the right time, they can become life-threatening in the absence of early treatment. Oral cancer symptoms are also very subtle and barely noticeable. That’s why people should be extra careful about this. Early diagnosis can save many lives.
Globally, lip and oral cavity cancer infect 4 out of 100,00 people. According to WHO, this type of cancer is more common in men and older people. People’s socioeconomic status can also affect the incidence of this type of cancer. The main factors that can affect this type of cancer and make people more prone to it are alcohol and tobacco consumption.
Mood disorders relatively common among monkeypox patients
A review report published in clinical medicine lists some of the most common complications associated with monkeypox, including muscle pain, fatigue, headache, anxiety, and depression.
A review of several studies found that 2-3 percent of monkeypox patients have serious neurological complications such as seizures or encephalitis. But the study mainly involved patients from previous monkeypox outbreaks. While there is limited evidence to estimate the prevalence of such neurological complications in current outbreaks, it is still a cause for concern, the researchers stress, requiring further investigation.
Meanwhile, experts want doctors to look for mental symptoms such as depression and anxiety in monkeypox patients and ensure they have access to psychological and psychiatric care if needed.
