About Dr Pamela Howson Breast Surgery
Dr Howson is a General Surgeon with interests in breast & endocrine surgery at Concord & Auburn Hospitals. Having accomplished her surgical training in Sydney Australia, she accepted further local & overseas breast Fellowships, gaining extensive experience in the surgical management of both benign and malignant breast disease with a particular focus on reconstructive approaches together with implant and flap-based reconstruction. Of note, she has introduced the technique of lipofilling, or fat grafting, as another tool in the Concord armamentarium of breast reconstitution in the setting of breast cancer.
She continually strives to provide high-standard evidence-based patient-centered care delivered within a multidisciplinary framework, ensuring that patients, their families & fellow staff members, come first. Patients with breast cancer are discussed within the Breast Multidisciplinary team meetings held weekly at Strathfield Private Hospital (SPH).

Dr Howson also has a subspecialty interest in Endocrine surgery, specifically benign & malignant diseases of the thyroid & parathyroid glands, & was involved in the setting up of Endocrine multidisciplinary meetings at Concord Hospital. She is actively involved in the on-call roster for General Surgery at both Concord & Auburn Hospitals & performs a spectrum of laparoscopic and open general surgery as well as endoscopies. She is a Clinical Lecturer & examiner at Sydney & Notre Dame Universities. Research remains a priority as demonstrated by her commitment to Doctor of Medicine students.
